The Story: A Foundation of Craft

The Pocket Anchor is the smallest and most resilient Artifact yet, forged with the principle of Grounded Utility above all else. Its creation was an exercise in functional geometry: a shorter, highly versatile blade balanced by a longer, solid handle. This deliberate design ensures maximum control and safety, making it the perfect everyday helper. This knife embodies the principle: True strength is found in a solid foundation.

Integrity of Materials & Form

  • Blade Material: Reclaimed from an authentic, high-carbon steel hoof rasp (approx. 1\% carbon). Its compact size allows for meticulous shaping, delivering a razor-sharp, durable edge perfect for continuous small tasks.
  • Handle: Crafted from the same sturdy material as The Oak Keeper (Oak) providing a reliable, comfortable grip. Its length is optimized to give a superior handhold despite the knife's smaller profile.
  • The Anchor Upgrade: For the first time, the handle is not only secured with solid rivets but is also permanently set with high-strength epoxy. This dual-bond ensures the handle is impervious to moisture and stress, delivering maximum durability and reflecting the principle: Longevity is the true measure of worth.
  • The Mark: The residual rasp teeth offer a beautiful, dark texture, ensuring this blade is immediately recognized as a tool of integrity and purpose.

The Value: More Than a Knife

This is the sovereign's daily companion—a tool built to be handy, reliable, and fundamentally unbreakable. Its unique blade-to-handle ratio provides the security of a large tool in a compact form, ready for all tasks from the workshop to the field.

Owning The Pocket Anchor is owning a piece of resilient craftsmanship, a constant reminder that the most valuable asset you own is a tool you can rely on completely.

Purpose: Everyday utility (EDC), fine detail cutting, small-scale chopping, and general handy field work.

Note: Due to the high-carbon content, this blade will develop a unique patina over time—a sign of its continuous, honest use.

🧼 Care and Longevity Instructions

These Artifacts are forged from high-carbon steel—not stainless steel. High-carbon steel holds a superior, long-lasting edge and is far easier to sharpen, which is why we choose it for tools built for honest work.

However, this material requires care: The blade will rust if left wet. To ensure the longevity of your Artifact, always clean the blade immediately after use, dry it thoroughly, and never wash it in a dishwasher (which will quickly destroy the handle and the blade). When storing the knife for long periods, apply a light coat of food-grade oil (like mineral oil or olive oil) to the blade to protect it.
