The Story: A Foundation for the Feast

The Hearthstone is forged to be the foundational tool for the kitchen—the place where preparation meets reclamation. It carries the length required for confident slicing but with a profile that prioritizes comfort and control over excessive length. Its design is driven by the principle of precision in provision, ensuring that every task, from light prep to heavy chopping, is handled with focused intent.

Integrity of Materials & Form

  • Blade Material: Reclaimed, high-carbon rasp steel, shaped for dedicated kitchen utility. It provides a durable, easily maintained edge that holds its razor-sharpness through extended prep work.
  • Handle: Crafted from elegant, lightly burned Plum Wood, which offers a comfortable, warm patina and superior density.
  • The Traditional Anchor: The handle is secured using a traditional, highly durable method: brass rivets set inside copper pipes, and then permanently bonded with high-strength epoxy. This dual-bond system ensures the ultimate handle integrity, impervious to moisture and heat, reflecting the principle: Longevity is the true measure of worth.
  • Utility: Its intermediate length and refined profile make it exceptionally versatile for slicing vegetables, trimming meat, and all essential daily food preparation.

The Value: The Comfort of Control

Owning The Hearthstone is investing in a specialized tool that brings the integrity of the forge directly into the kitchen. It is the core of honest provision, built to last generations.

🧼 Care and Longevity Instructions

These Artifacts are forged from high-carbon steel—not stainless steel. High-carbon steel holds a superior, long-lasting edge and is far easier to sharpen, which is why we choose it for tools built for honest work.

However, this material requires care: The blade will rust if left wet. To ensure the longevity of your Artifact, always clean the blade immediately after use, dry it thoroughly, and never wash it in a dishwasher (which will quickly destroy the handle and the blade). When storing the knife for long periods, apply a light coat of food-grade oil (like mineral oil or olive oil) to the blade to protect it.
